Chapter 25 - Finishing

Started 02/19/2012 finished xx/xx/2017 Hours worked this chapter :285

Macro application.

First time macro fill of the fuselage added plastic to help hold in place, not a good idea. Need to make macro stiffer next time.

Filling canopy

Filling is off the fuselage

Installed back in on fuselage and filling surrounding aeries.

Using plastic to keep everything separate, just sanded away the plastic when that step came.

Macro fill surface between fuel cell and wing root, sanding to true up looks good. Put plastic between the two part making sure not to glue them together.

Finishing the Naca scoop

Here you can see the ears I added to bring in the air that would slip out over the scoop.

Macro the nose with plastic on the covers to keep them free.

Getting better with each application of the macro fill. Lots to sand...

Macro wing

Macro bottom wing

Macro rudder

Macro inside rudder wing sanded

Macro right wing and controls

Macro top of right wing

On to primer I used PTI gray sanding primer.

Used light to make it easer to show imperfections during primer process and sanding primer repeating.....

Concord wing complete and stored ready to go. Primer going on the cowlings top and bottom.

Here you can see the engine oil check door, I used a very nice flush latch that works well and quick. I hate long pre-flight checks.

Top cowl in primer waiting on cure and sanding for next coat.

This method worked will with foam rollers, although I think is took more primer that the spray method

Between each primer coat and sanding got to the finish that will give me a very nice color coat.

I did the same with the control surfaces too

Wing complete covered waiting on the left wing to join it in storage. I used I bolts and nylon ropes to store the wings
