Hangar Flying / fiberglass deterioration

does anyone know how to test glass for UV deterioration. I have just acquired a Q2 that has been out in the AZ. sun for about 6 years, where the paint has flaked off you can see the fiberglass, which has turned brown. Most of it is cosmetic, but was wanting to know if the spar can be tested to a point before failure, to know if it is structurally safe. any info would help thanks Rebel.

Hangar Flying / com antenna

I just recently got an Icom a-200 for my veze that didn't come with an antenna. am in need of info on an antenna I currently have a 3 ft. tube on the back of drivers seat that original builder installed it worked well with the portable A24 I have been using until I needed to talk to tower in class B at 30 mi range. tower could not read well enough to let me enter class B. any sugestions on type antenna to use would like to keep it inside if possible. :?:

Hangar Flying / lightweight alternator

I have a contenental 0-200 in a verieze  the generator was leaking oil thru the shaft seal so I removed it . am looking for an alternator for it. does anyone know what is the best way to go for power. I have electric start & need power for radio & gps only. the 30 amp hr batt doesn"t last long enough for a long trip. so I end up having to hand prop on about the third stop. any info would be great. PS>am very glad this forum is back on the air. :D

I am a non builder and I  need some info about making a batt access cover on a veze. tips per say about cutting hole and can you reuse the piece you cut out . If reinforcement is needed where hole is cut. the batt is in the nose for weight and balance purposes and the only way to get at it is take the canard off which is a hassle every time you need to check batt. any info welcome thanks rebel.  :?
